Choosing an engine oil does not have to be confusing. Start with your owner's manual: it states the viscosity grade (for example 5W-30 or 20W-50) and the minimum API or ACEA specification your engine needs.
1. Match the viscosity
The first number (with the W) describes cold-start flow and the second describes thickness at operating temperature. Always use the grade your manufacturer recommends.
2. Match the specification
API SN, for example, is a modern petrol-engine standard, while diesel engines often call for CF, CH-4 or CI-4 and ACEA E-series approvals.
3. Synthetic or mineral?
Fully synthetic oils such as D-run Syn resist breakdown for longer and suit modern turbocharged engines. Mineral oils such as D-run Ultra and Super Motor Oil are dependable and economical for everyday use.
Not sure? Message our technical team and we will recommend the right D-run product.
